Chelsea fans proud as club shows support for victims of Manchester attack

Chelsea released a statement on Wednesday saying that they had cancelled the victory parade that was scheduled for Sunday after their Premier League title win following the tragic events in Manchester on Monday.

With the security threat rising to critical and police presence need elsewhere, the club has decided that it would be inappropriate to run a non-ticketed event in the capital to celebrate their success.

As well as cancelling the parade the Blues also announced that they would wear black armbands for the FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday, and that they would provide a donation to a fund supporting victims of the tragedy in Manchester.

Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the decision via social media, and as well as believing it is the right decision considering the circumstances, they are proud of their club.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
