According to reports in The Mirror, Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is a €40m (approximately £36m) target for French side Lille.

The Mirror says that the Ligue 1 outfit’s manager Marcelo Bielsa, who managed the Belgian attacker at Marseille, is keen to rescue him from his Blues nightmare.

The 23-year-old has struggled to break into the starting line-up under Antonio Conte and he made just one start and played a total of 235 minutes in the Premier League last season, after finding himself behind Diego Costa in the pecking order.

Now Batshuayi finds himself in a similar situation with new boy Alvaro Morata, while his situation wasn’t helped by the fact that he scored an own goal in his side’s 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday.

Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the transfer rumour via social media, with the majority wanting the club to cash in on the Belgium international and then target the likes of Manolo Gabbiadini and Moussa Dembele to replace him.
