Chelsea fans unimpressed with Michy Batshuayi in Qarabag win

Chelsea began their Champions League campaign in the best way possible as they thrashed Qarabag FK 6-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, but Blues fans weren’t overly impressed with the performance of striker Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgium international replaced Alvaro Morata in the starting line-up from the win against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday, but it was his teammates that found the breakthrough against the Azerbaijani champions on four occasions before the 23-year-old eventually found the net in the 76th minute.

Pedro, Davide Zappacosta, Cesar Azpilicueta and Timeoue Bakayoko had all got on the score-sheet for Antonio Conte’s side before that, but Batshuayi was unlucky not to be credited with the sixth when his close range stab at goal was turned into his own net by Maksim Medvedev.

Despite his goals, Chelsea supporters were quick to take to social media to say that they weren’t impressed with his all-round performance, with some even going as far as saying it is “painful” watching him play.
