Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said in his pre-match press conference for the Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday that defender Andreas Christensen in ready to play.

Following two seasons on loan with German side Borussia Monchengladbach, the 21-year-old is in Conte’s first-team plans at Stamford Bridge and he made only his fourth appearance for the Blues as an 18th-minute substitute in the 3-2 home defeat by Burnley last weekend after Gary Cahill was shown a straight red card.
Now the Denmark international could be set to make his full Premier League debut against Spurs this weekend with Cahill suspended, and his Italian boss looks to have the faith to start him in what is a huge game between last term’s top two.
Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on Conte’s comments on Christensen via social media, and many are hoping that he impresses at Wembley so he can be given Cahill’s place for the foreseeable future.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

Sign draxler. Play Andreas ahead of cahill. Let cahill rest.
