Chelsea delivered the kind of performance that reminded everyone why they are English Premier League champions on Sunday, battling to a victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium.

In what will be one of the season's biggest fixtures, the Blues took the game to their London rivals and fully deserved the victory over the 90 minutes, striking late to win 2-1.

Marcos Alonso was the hero, his stunning free-kick and low strike under Hugo Lloris enough for the three points.

It was also an opportunity for supporters to see the likes of Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko in action after their big summer switches to Stamford Bridge.

It was a risk for Antonio Conte to hand Bakayoko his debut. He hasn't had a pre-season to speak of after undergoing knee surgery at the end of of last season but the Italian had faith in him anyway and fans were left delighted by his performance.
