Chelsea linked with shock swoop for Vardy, fans react

The Premier League season is well underway, but clubs still have nine days left to bring in more signings before the transfer window slams shut.

Chelsea’s activity in the window has been under the microscope over the past month or so, with Nemanja Matic’s exit to Manchester United raising eyebrows in particular.

Manager Antonio Conte has recruited Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Morata, but the club continue to be linked to high-profile names.

The most recent of which is Jamie Vardy, who became a key top-flight player in his own right when he helped Leicester City win the Premier League title in the 2015-16 campaign.

Over the past two seasons, the striker has scored 37 league goals, and he became the first ever player to score in 11 consecutive top-flight matches.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea are pondering a move for the 30-year-old as they attempt to bolster the team’s attacking options, with Diego Costa’s future still in doubt.

Vardy took time to get off the mark last season, but he has already added two goals to his tally after just two games.

As expected, Chelsea fans have been giving their views on this latest transfer rumour.
