Alvaro Morata has had a very successful start to life at Chelsea – scoring seven times in 10 appearances for the Premier League champions following a summer move from Real Madrid.
It has been suggested that Morata was Chelsea’s second-choice target behind Romelu Lukaku, but the Spain international has been excellent in the early weeks of the 2017-18 campaign.
Six of his goals have come in the Premier League, whilst he has also scored once in two Champions League matches for the Blues.
Morata, who is valued at £45m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has already played for some of the biggest clubs in world football despite the fact that he only turned 25 on Monday.
As expected, Chelsea’s official Twitter account were on hand to wish their striker a happy birthday, with the post including a tribute video.
The Chelsea supporters were out in force to lavish praise on Morata, with some claiming that the former Real Madrid star was not only the best striker in the Premier League, but the best overall player.
