Plenty of Chelsea fans have not hidden their frustration with Diego Costa on Twitter recently, with many regularly urging manager Antonio Conte to drop him.

On Tuesday night, though, most were singing a different tune when the Spain international scored twice against Southampton to help the Blues extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Those goals could prove to be vital as it puts Tottenham Hotspur seven points adrift with five games left to play.

The North London outfit have a chance to respond when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this evening, but they take on a team that have beaten Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks.

The clash against Southampton at Stamford Bridge was a big one for Costa as he ended his five-game scoring drought in the top flight and put in an impressive performance.

Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill also got on the scoresheet, resulting in Oriol Romeu's and Ryan Bertrand's goals becoming meaningless in the 4-2 scoreline.

During and after the game, Chelsea fans had their say on Costa, and they particularly enjoyed his second goal.
