Darren Bent has slammed the Derby County fans who criticised Steve McClaren's substitutions in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Preston. The Rams were minutes away from claiming all three points at Pride Park following Matej Vydra's 50th minute goal. However, five minutes into injury time, Tom Barkhuizen netted an equaliser to snatch a point for the visitors.McClaren's three changes occurred in the final 16 minutes of the encounter, with Abdoul Camara replacing Vydra, David Nugent making way for Bent and Craig Bryson coming on for Johnny Russell. Some fans criticised McClaren's substitutions, blaming the manager's selections for why Derby conceded a late goal.Bent is not accepting that view, though, suggesting that the personnel changes towards the end of the match cannot be held responsible.

The Rams currently reside 10th in the Championship table, 10 points adrift of the playoff places, which are likely to be too far out of reach for McClaren's men.

In their last eight league games, Derby have only won once.
