Plenty of eyes were on David de Gea on Sunday when his Manchester United side took on Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly in California.

The 26-year-old has long been linked to the Spanish giants after his proposed switch to the Bernabeu in 2015 fell through.

After the friendly ended 1-1 in normal time following goals from Jesse Lingard and Casemiro, a penalty shootout ensued.

De Gea showed his ability by making two saves to help United win 2-1 from the spot.

After the final whistle, Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News tweeted a photo of a handful of Madrid players circling De Gea.

Of course, the imagination can run wild in this scenario, but the majority of United fans are not too concerned.

It seems that the supporters do not have too much to worry about anyway judging by Mourinho's comments.

BBC Sport quotes the Portuguese coach as saying that the goalkeeper will "100%" be staying at Old Trafford this season.
