It can’t have been easy being a Tottenham Hotspur fan on Saturday. Having craved major honours for so long, they saw their team fall to a Wembley semi-final defeat to Chelsea in a pulsating and dramatic match.
With the game poised at 2-2 with just 15 minutes remaining, many watching thought that the game was destined for extra-time. However, a benched Eden Hazard came on and changed the game, scoring to break Spurs hearts before Nemanja Matic settled things with a thumping top corner drive.
The 4-2 scoreline means that Spurs’ curse at Wembley continues, having now lost there seven times since 2008. Three of those have been FA Cup semi-finals and the wait continues for the club to again lift the trophy they last won in 1991.
Fans though are remaining upbeat, understanding they are in the middle of a long-term project that they hope will one day produce trophies.
They’ve responded defiantly to the results, as disappointing as it was, to re-iterate the pride they take in their current upward trajectory.

Hugely disappointed with today's result was so hard to take, however I'm so proud of our team! The trophies will come. #COYS

Final thought. When we start winning trophies very soon, days like today will make it so much sweeter. I love Spurs. #COYS

Hard to take after playing so well but if this squad and manager stay together, we will win trophies. #coys
