Ahhh the joys of watching England play football. Not only do we have to put up with perennial disappointments at tournaments, we also have to watch managers, both previous and current, make some bizarre decisions regarding set pieces.

Who can forget Roy Hodgson's ridiculous decision to allow Harry Kane to take corners for England during the 2016 European Championships in France?

Well, during this evening's game at Wembley, where England faced Slovenia, an equally strange decision seemed to confuse a lot of watching England fans.

At around the half-hour mark, England were awarded a free-kick in a fantastic position, around 25 yards from goal. What a moment for Harry Kane, Eric Dier or perhaps even Marcus Rashford to take a shot on goal...or maybe even Kyle Walker.

That's right. Manchester City's right-back who has never taken a direct free-kick in his professional career and hasn't even scored in 2 and a half years was given the responsibility to take the kick.

As expected, Walker hit the shot well over the bar and England fans on Twitter reacted in hilarious fashion...
