Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori posted a picture of him in his hospital bed on Tuesday as he recovers from knee surgery that will keep him sidelined for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old tore his knee cartilage while on international duty with Argentina last month, and it was one of just a number of blows for Toffees manager Ronald Koeman as Seamus Coleman suffered a double leg break during the Republic of Ireland’s clash with Wales, and his Irish teammate James McCarthy also returned to Goodison Park with a problem.
Everton certainly struggled defensively during their 3-1 defeat against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday, and fans were quick to give their reaction to the centre-back’s post via social media, and are hoping that he will be fit for the start of the 2017/18 campaign.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to Funes Mori’s post…
