Everton manager Ronald Koeman confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend that striker Oumar Niasse is set to return to the first-team fold after failing to secure a move way this summer.
Even though the Toffees brought in the likes of Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez during the previous transfer window, they didn’t sign the Romelu Lukaku replacement that Koeman wanted and it means that the squad is slightly light up top.
Despite costing the club £13.5m in February 2016, Niasse has been frozen out ever since Koeman took charge at Goodison Park last summer and he spent the second half of last season out on loan at Hull City.
Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the news via social media, and they are happy that the Senegal international is to be given a chance to impress, with some even predicting that “he will surprise everyone”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
He will surprise everyone if he gets a decent run of games.

Guy deserves a chance, there's no way he can be worse than Kone
