After impressing for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2014 World Cup, midfielder Muhamed Besic got his big break in terms of a move as he joined Everton from Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

The 24-year-old has made 48 appearances for the Toffees over the last couple of seasons, but he is yet to feature under Ronald Koeman during the 2016-17 campaign after suffering a serious knee injury during Everton's pre-season preparations.

The midfielder had been expected to return to the fold in early 2017, but a series of set-backs have forced the Bosnian to bide his time on the sidelines.

Besic was finally back on the field on Friday, however, as he represented Everton's Under-23 side in their 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

After the match, Besic took to Twitter to reveal his happiness at returning to the fold, and Everton supporters are delighted that the talented midfielder is now on the right track following an injury that threatened to end his career.
