Everton fans desperate for Sigurdsson after his performance against Manchester United

Everton fans have urged the club to move for Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson in the summer following his goalscoring display against Manchester United.

The Iceland international scored a sublime goal from a free kick to seal a 1-1 draw for the relegation battlers at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Sigurdsson is Swansea’s best player, but if Paul Clement’s side drop into the Championship come the end of May, there is likely to be a scramble for the midfielder’s signature.

Earlier this month the Daily Mail reported that Southampton, West Ham United, Newcastle United and Everton are all keeping tabs on the Icelandic star.

The publication claimed that Sigurdsson has a £35m price tag, but suitors will be in a better bargaining position if Swansea get relegated from the top flight.

Everton fans had to witness a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at Goodison Park, but prior to that, they were impressed by Sigurdsson’s performance against United.

After the midfielder’s goal, many Everton supporters felt convinced that he would be a good addition to the team.
