According to Sky Sports, former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs is interested in the vacant Everton manager’s role following the departure of Ronald Koeman, but Toffees fans certainly don’t want him.
The Merseyside outfit are on the search for a new boss after sacking Koeman on Monday following a poor start to the campaign which has left them 18th in the top flight standings, and Giggs has decided to throw his hat into the ring.
The former Red Devil told Sky Sports: “I think you look at those two teams, Leicester being champions two seasons ago, Everton being a fantastic club with a fantastic history, for me these are clubs I would be interested in.”
Despite his experience of playing in the Premier League and being a number two at Old Trafford, the 43-year-old would be taking on his first managerial role if he was handed the job at Goodison Park.
Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the Welshman’s comments via social media, and while some simply said “no thanks”, others believe he won’t even be a candidate as he has “no credentials to manage”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
Great player but no credentials to manage, earn your stripes

No thanks…he might turn out to be a great manager but go and prove yourself first!

Anyone who has to tout themselves for the job is not worth having. Means no other club wants him.

I’d rather take Koeman back with Martinez as his number 2!
