Everton fans divided on potential Gareth Barry exit

According to reports in The Mirror, Everton midfielder Gareth Barry is a summer target for Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion and Burnley.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis is looking for an experienced replacement for Darren Fletcher, who left the Hawthorns for Stoke City earlier this summer, and he has identified Barry as the man he wants to replace the Scot in the middle of the park, according to The Mirror.

The 36-year-old has become more of a bit-part player at Goodison Park following the arrivals of Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye in the last year, although he still made 34 appearances in all competitions last term to show that he was still a key part of Ronald Koeman’s plans.

Meanwhile, the report adds that Clarets manager Sean Dyche would like to take the experienced midfielder on a season-long loan deal.

Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and they were divided with their opinions.

While some believe the Merseyside outfit should keep for one more season because of his experience and leadership, others believe it is time for the veteran to go.
