Everton fans express surprise as forgotten star is ruled out of Man United clash

Everton winger Aaron Lennon has been something of a bit-part player for the club this season, and Toffees supporters seemed confused when he was ruled out of their vital clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

The 29-year-old wide man has made just 13 appearances in all competitions this term – and just two in 2017 – with the last of those coming against Middlesbrough at the start of February.

He’s certainly become a forgotten man among fans with the likes of Ademola Lookman, Kevin Miralla, Ross Barkley and Tom Davies being preferred to the former Tottenham man.

Everton supporters were quick to take to social media to give their reaction to Lennon’s absence for the game against the Red Devils – who the Merseyside outfit can overtake in the table with a victory – and sarcasm seemed to be the order of the day.
