Everton fans impressed with Keane, Pickford performances in Europa tie

Everton have now played four competitive fixtures this season, which is allowing the club’s summer signings to find their feet.

The Merseyside outfit have recruited eight new players during this window, with the latest arrival being Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City.

Thursday night’s Europa League playoff tie against Hajduk Split came too early for the midfielder, but a number of new faces were on show.

Among them were Cuco Martina, Davy Klaassen, Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

The match ended in a 2-0 victory for Ronald Koeman’s men thanks to goals from Keane and Idrissa Gueye.

The result gives Everton a strong advantage heading into the second leg, and plenty of fans were quick to praise the team.

Keane and Pickford in particular impressed the supporters, who believe that the reported combined fee of around £60m for the pair was worth it.

Everton will next be in action on Monday night when they face two-time Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
