Everton fans in disbelief as yet another star picks up injury on international duty

It hasn’t been a good couple of weeks for Everton with star man Romelu Lukaku refusing to sign a new contract at Goodison Park, and Seamus Coleman suffering a double leg break while playing for the Republic of Ireland at the weekend.

Midfielder James McCarthy also looks to have picked up a problem on international duty, and Ronald Koeman would have been left wondering what he has done to deserve this bad luck when Ramiro Funes Mori was stretchered off in the first half of Argentina’s 2018 World Cup qualifying match with Bolivia on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old appeared to be holding his knee, and it is yet another blow ahead of what is two crucial Premier League matches for the Toffees against arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester United this week.

Everton supporters were quick to give their thoughts on the latest setback via social media, with the majority of fans in disbelief at the news.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction to the latest injury problem…

Not everyone put a negative spin on it though…
