Another season of European football for Everton begins tonight, as the club travels to Italy to face Atalanta.
And depending on how boss Ronald Koeman approaches this often considered “secondary” tournament, the starting eleven could be drastically altered from the weekend’s defeat to Tottenham.
One player in particular is causing division among the Everton fans for his under-par performances so far this campaign. Cuco Martina, who was bought in from Southampton in the summer is yet to endear himself to the Goodison Park faithful, many of whom feel that other options at right-back are far superior.
One of these alternative options that Toffees supporters are keen to see earn a place in the starting line-up is Jonjoe Kenny.
The 20-year-old is a product of the Everton youth system and has featured a handful of times for the first team.
However, Blues fans are now keen to see him start in the Europa League, especially with Cuco Martina yet to find form in an Everton shirt, and took to Twitter to express their thoughts…
I know it's still early in the season but if DCL doesn't start up front and Kenny not given a chance after Spurs result I will despair #EFC

Koeman needs to give Jonjoe Kenny a chance. Play him and see what he's got.

I reckon Jagielka will start tomorrow over Williams tbh. Would like Kenny at RB but I see it being Holgate. Gueye/Schneiderlin are shoe ins.
