Everton fans praise Dominic Calvert-Lewin after Manchester City draw

Everton maintained their unbeaten start to the season after drawing 1-1 with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night, and Toffees fans were particularly impressed with the performance of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

With Sandro Ramirez absent through injury, the 20-year-old started in the lone role up top and things looked to be going his side’s way as he set up Wayne Rooney to score in the 35th minute, which was then followed up by a second yellow card for the hosts’ Kyle Walker just before the break.

However, despite the fact that they were up against 10 men Ronald Koeman’s men couldn’t hold on and Raheem Sterling equalised late on, before Morgan Schneiderlin also saw red two minutes from time.

Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the performance of Calvert-Lewin via social media, and they were full of praise for his showing.

While some said he was the “best player on the pitch”, others even feel he has the potential to play that role better than Romelu Lukaku.
