Everton was routed in ruthless fashion at Goodison Park on Saturday with a visiting Tottenham Hotspur reaching their potential and delivering a 3-0 win.
A Harry Kane double and a Christian Eriksen effort gave Spurs the victory, Everton exposed to the full force of Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
There’s no doubting that the Toffees had one of the toughest starts to the English Premier League season, but after just four points from their opening four matches and Saturday’s heavy defeat, fans are beginning to ask questions.
As everyone knows, Ronald Koeman had a significant budget available to him this summer, with some fans believing their spending power would allow them to close the gap on the top four. However, improvement isn’t visible in Koeman’s Blues side right now.
Supporters put the blame for the Spurs loss squarely on his shoulders, believing he got the tactics and selection all wrong.
They took to Twitter to share their displeasure…
Last time I said it I got attacked, but it still bears saying again: Koeman is not the next great manager people made him out to be. #EFC

Utterly appalling today. No positives to take. Totally outclassed. No pace, no width, shite tactics. Koeman must take responsibility #EFC

Poor performance. Team was completely unbalanced. Poor selection from Koeman. He has to answer for that. #EFC

Koeman has no excuse, he's had money, we're still dire. Bottom line is he's clueless & we're not going to progress under him #EFC

Dire. Koeman won't be going to Barcelona in 2 years' time, I guarantee you that. That was like a Mike Walker performance. Dire. #EFC

EFC very, very poor today. Again. Utterly unimpressive all season so far. Whatever Koeman is doing it isn't working. #efc
