According to reports on Own Goal Nigeria, Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho’s agent has hinted the player could join Everton this summer.

The 20-year-old looks set to leave the Etihad this summer after finding first team opportunities hard to come by under Pep Guardiola, who has often preferred Gabriel Jesus or Sergio Aguero up top, and he had been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend.

However, Iheanacho’s agent says the Nigeria international won’t be allowed to join a title rival, and could instead end up at a club like Everton or West Ham.

He told Own Goal Nigeria: ”It’s clear he won’t be sold to a direct title rival by Man City, so when I see the reported interest from Spurs, I know if it becomes official it will be dismissed outright, but Everton and West Ham we will have to wait and see.”

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is looking for new attackers with Arouna Kone already being announced as leaving the club this summer and Enner Valencia returning to West Ham United following a loan spell, while doubts remain over the future of Romelu Lukaku too.

Everton supporters were quick to give their reaction to the comments via social media, and they would love to being the highly-rated forward to Goodison Park this summer.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction...
