Everton fans react as Henry Onyekuru hopes to make January return

According to an interview he did with Belgian media outlet La Libre, Everton winger Henry Onyekuru has confirmed that he has held talks about cutting short his season-long loan spell and returning to Goodison Park in January, and Everton fans have been quick to have their say on the potential decision.

The Toffees won the race to sign the highly-rated winger from KAS Eupen during the summer transfer window and decided to immediately loan the Nigeria international to Belgian giants Anderlecht as he didn’t qualify for a UK work permit.

However, the Merseyside outfit appear to have had discussions with the 20-year-old about coming back to the club in the New Year following some impressive recent form – he has scored seven goals in 13 appearances in all competitions this term – and Ronald Koeman’s side’s struggles in the Premier League and Europa League.

Everton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the situation, and while said that the recall would be signal “desperate measures”, others believe that the under-fire Koeman would “absolutely ruin him”.
