According to reports in the Liverpool Echo, Morgan Feeney has been called up to Everton’s first-team squad for the Europa League clash against Lyon on Thursday night, and Toffees fans have been quick to have their say on the decision.
The 18-year-old centre-back has been an impressive figure throughout his academy years with the club and he was a key part of the U23s side that won the Premier League 2 title last season.
The teenager was left out of the squad for the Checkatrade Trophy fixture against Mansfield Town on Tuesday night however, with the Liverpool Echo saying this is because he will be travelling to France with caretaker manager David Unsworth and his players with stars like Michael Keane set to miss out because of injury.
Everton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the decision, and while some said he “can’t do any worse than Williams currently”, others believe “he could be our saviour”.
