According to BBC Football, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has hinted that he is on the verge of leaving the club after deciding where he wants to play next season.

The Toffees star – who scored 25 Premier League goals this term – has been linked with the likes of former side Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks after so far refusing to sign the new five-year contract he has been offered by the Merseyside outfit.

Manager Ronald Koeman would have been desperate to keep hold of the 24-year-old in order to progress, but that now seems unlikely following the attacker’s latest quotes.

Lukaku said: “I don't want to stay at the same level. I want to improve and I know where I want to do that.

“We are now talking to the club. I know what's happening, but I will leave the talks to my agent.

“What I would like most is to play in the Champions League and try to win the Premier League once. Or better - a few times.”

Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the latest twist in the long-running transfer saga via social media, and while some are keen for the Belgian to just go so that they can move on and secure their own targets ahead of next season, while others believe the club in question is Chelsea and they want some of their stars as part of a deal.
