Tim Cahill may be a few months shy of his 38th birthday, but the Everton icon is showing little signs of age.
In fact, the Australian forward has just headed home two crucial goals for his country, seeing them through to the next round of World Cup qualifying by the skin of their teeth – the latter effort coming in the 109th minute against Syria in extra time.
Of course, Cahill is known well by Premier League fans and particularly those on Merseyside. In the space of eight years, the midfielder-come-forward made 278 appearances for Everton, scoring on 68 occasions.
The veteran’s record for Australia is even more impressive, the brace today pushing him up to a landmark 50 goals for the Socceroos.
