Everton disappointing start to the season continued as they fell to their second defeat in three Europa League group games after being beaten 2-1 by Lyon at Goodison Park on Thursday night, and Toffees fans weren't impressed with midfielder Davy Klaassen's performance.

The Dutchman has struggled to make an impact for the Merseyside outfit following his summer move from Ajax, and he was named in the starting line-up for the first time in four matches against the Ligue 1 outfit.

However, the 24-year-old often made the wrong decisions in possession and when he had an opening in front of goal, he was caught in two minds before sending a tame effort straight at the Lyon goalkeeper.

Klaassen was replaced by Ademola Lookman at half-time and Everton supporters were quick to have their say on his showing via social media.

While some said he is "out of his depth", another went a lot further and said "he's the worst Everton player I've ever seen".
