According to reports in The Times, Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has rejected the chance to stay at the club is because of his strained relationship with manager Ronald Koeman.
The 23-year-old had been expected to leave Goodison Park this summer after turning down the chance to extend his current contract, which is due to run out next summer, with the Merseyside outfit keen to cash in on him now rather than lose him for nothing in 2018.
However, The Times says the Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea target may be forced to remain with the Toffees after suffering a serious hamstring injury in training on Monday, which could keep him on the sidelines for three months.
The report adds that the England international confronted Koeman last season after the Dutchman publicly criticised his performances.
Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, with the majority unimpressed at how Barkley is unable to take criticism, with some even labelling him as a “baby”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reacton…
Instead of throwing his toys out he MUST learn to take the good with the bad and understand he'll learn from criticism esp from likes of RK

Barkley is a manchild. As expected. Can't handle criticism.

Didn't really care to begin with. Care even less now we've got Sigurdsson who is twice the player

What a baby. A proper player would take the criticism in stride and work to prove him wrong. Not give the boo boo face over it. Goodbye.

A 24 yr old pro athlete ought to be able to handle public criticism. If you want the praise you need to handle the ridicule. He's soft.
