According to Sky Sports, Everton are keen to appoint Burnley boss Sean Dyche as their new manager, but Toffees fans are unimpressed with the rumour.

Sky Sports says that the Toffees are keen to speak to the 46-year-old – whose Clarets side are currently seventh in the Premier League standings – but no decision is imminent with caretaker boss David Unsworth expected to take charge of the Europa League clash against Lyon on Thursday and the Premier League game against Watford at Goodison Park on Sunday.

While Unsworth looked to have a chance of taking the vacant role on a permanent basis, defeats against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Leicester City in the league look to have seen the club move for Dyche.

Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the story via social media, and they were far from happy.

While some simply said "R.I.P. Everton Football Club", others believe they would be taking a "backwards step" if they appoint Dyche.
