Everton remain in the bottom three of the English Premier League after another poor performance and result on Sunday, this time away to Leicester City in a match they lost 2-0.
Jamie Vardy and Demarai Gray were the goal heroes for Leicester City, who are entering a new era under former Southampton boss Claude Puel.
Everton, guided by David Unsworth in the wake of Ronald Koeman’s sacking, did well to compete in the second half but failed to threaten the home side, who had surged to their two-goal cushion by half-time.
Toffees fans were particularly disappointed with the performance of Wayne Rooney, who failed to impose himself on the match and was eventually hauled off in the 74th minute.
Supporters are now calling for Unsworth to drop the former Manchester United man if he’s to have any hope of turning results around.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
Rooney was shocking today. Complacent, sloppy, slowed play down and took up too many positions he shouldn't have leaving gaps up top #EFC

Rooney is our worst player by some distance and in a team that includes Williams that’s impressive #efc

To stand a chance he needs to drop Rooney. And I can't see him having the bottle to do so. #efc

Sorry but Wayne Rooney shouldn't be anywhere near our first team now. Lost the aggression that made him special years ago #efc

If Unsworth wants to keep the job he needs to be brave and drop Rooney, his legs have gone #EFC
