Ex-Tottenham Hotspur defender keen for Rose to stay put

It is safe to say that Danny Rose is not a favourite among every Tottenham Hotspur supporter.

The England international made some eyebrow-raising claims during an interview with the Sun before the start of the season.

Rose criticised the club’s wage structure (it is one of the most modest in the Premier League) and also questioned the ambition due to the lack of summer signings at that time.

The 27-year-old admitted that he would one day like to return up North to be closer to his family, which then sparked rumours of a possible move to Manchester.

A recent report in the Daily Star has claimed that Rose would reject a move to Chelsea at the end of the season in favour of a switch to Manchester United, if both clubs came calling.

After hearing the news, Graham Roberts, who played as a defender for Spurs between 1980 and 1986, gave his thoughts on the situation.

The 58-year-old believes that Rose should stay at the North London outfit and regain his left-back spot when he is fully fit following nine months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
