April 27, 2014 is a day that Liverpool fans want to forget and a day that rival supporters want to cherish until the end of time.

A slip from Liverpool talisman Steven Gerrard essentially triggered his club's demise in the Premier League title race.

The Reds - managed by Brendan Rodgers - had one hand on the elusive trophy, but they let it slip (pun intended) after losing 2-0 to Chelsea at Anfield.

Liverpool were knocking the ball around in their own half when Gerrard lost control and basically handed it to Demba Ba, who surged down the field to score.

The result ended the Merseyside outfit's 11-game winning run and they eventually lost the title to Manchester City.

Gerrard's one dream before he retired was to win the league title with Liverpool, but in a cruel ironic twist, his mistake was one of the reasons why they did not get over the line that year.

For Liverpool fans it was devastating, but for everyone else it was a moment of amusement, and three years later, rival supporters have created 'Slip Day' to celebrate Gerrard's misfortune.
