Fans poke fun at Wenger for missing out on Draxler

Julian Draxler played a big part in Paris Saint-Germain’s stunning victory over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, so automatically fans decided to make fun of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for failing to sign him.

The 23-year-old midfielder revealed to French TV station TF1 earlier this month that he had been in contact with Arsenal a few years ago, but that their interest eventually waned.

Draxler ended up signing for PSG from Wolfsburg in the January transfer window and has gone on to score five goals in nine appearances in all competitions.

He netted the second in an impressive 4-0 rout over European heavyweights Barcelona, who failed to find their feet at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their last-16 clash.

Angel Di Maria scored two of the goals, while Edinson Cavani wrapped it up to give PSG a commanding advantage heading into next month’s second leg at the Camp Nou.

After Draxler’s performances, some Arsenal fans hit out at Wenger for failing to buy him, while other football supporters took the opportunity to mock the French boss.
