Jamie Carragher has established himself as a credible pundit at Sky Sports, but some fans have started to pose questions.

The former Liverpool defender, who spent 17 years of his career playing for the Merseyside club, was co-commentator for Sunday’s match between his ex-club and West Ham United at the London Stadium.

After a run of disappointing performances, Liverpool stepped up in East London as they claimed a 4-0 victory over Slaven Bilic’s men.

Philippe Coutinho scored two of those goals, and he thrived in a much deeper role by threading balls through and finding his teammates with pin-pointed passes.

Like most people watching, Carragher was impressed with the Brazilian, and he apologised on Twitter after the match for waxing lyrical about Liverpool’s talisman.

Of course, rival fans, particularly West Ham ones, were not too impressed with his tweet nor did they enjoy the fact that an ex-Liverpool player has been co-commentating on their matches.
