Fans slate Manchester United’s performance against Hull

Manchester United have booked a place in the final of the EFL Cup, but fans were less than impressed with the performance.

On the night, they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Hull City at the KCOM Stadium, but their 2-0 triumph at Old Trafford in the first leg of the semi-final was enough to see them through 3-2 on aggregate.

The result means that United’s unbeaten streak has been stopped at 17 games, and it was a rather lacklustre display from Jose Mourinho’s men, particularly in the first half.

Hull were the better side in the opening 45 minutes, and they went ahead through Tom Huddlestone, who converted from the penalty spot after Marcos Rojo was adjudged to have tugged Harry Maguire’s shirt.

Paul Pogba eased United’s nerves by drawing level in the 66th minute, and even though new Hull signing Oumar Niasse got on the scoresheet, his 85th-minute goal came too late to inspire a comeback.

United have a chance to win their fifth League Cup when they face Southampton at Wembley in the final, but fans are disappointed with the manner in which the team played.
