Fans split over Carroll’s West Ham United future

Some fans have speculated that Andy Carroll will leave West Ham United to join a Chinese Super League club in the summer.

Manager Slaven Bilic told reporters in his weekly press conference on Thursday that the 28-year-old striker is wanted by the club.

The Mirror reported that the Hammers rejected a £32m offer from an unnamed club in China for the ex-Liverpool player prior to Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Bilic publicly stated that Carroll would never be sold in a lucrative deal with a Far East outfit, but that has not stopped some fans from speculating.

The striker has been dogged by injuries for many years and as a result has only featured 16 times in all competitions this season.

When he has played, though, he has been influential, scoring six goals in 12 Premier League appearances, nine of which he was named in the starting XI for.

Some supporters were happy to see Bilic reject the rumours of a West Ham exit, while others believe that a move could happen in the future.

A handful of people on Twitter also called for Carroll to be sold.
