Sheffield Wednesday are performing well in the Championship as they currently sit third in the table, three points adrift of leaders Cardiff City.

Fans were understandably concerned when Fernando Forestieri was hit with a three-month injury layoff due to a knee injury, but Gary Hooper has stepped up.

The former Celtic forward has scored seven goals in his last seven appearances for the Owls.

Forestieri was given the go-ahead to undergo surgery on his knee by manager Carlos Carvalhal after suffering the problem in the final few months of last season.

The 27-year-old only made three appearances in the current campaign before going under the knife, but it appears that the Argentine is edging towards full fitness.

The attack-minded player, who has been working on his recovery in Spain, posted a video on social media of himself on an exercise back, confirming that he has begun gym work.

As expected, the fans are delighted with his progress.
