Jansson upbeat despite Leeds dropping points

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been full of praise for the team on Twitter, despite dropping points against Fulham on Tuesday evening.

Garry Monk’s men had an opportunity to further cement a position in the Championship playoff places when they travelled to Craven Cottage.

They looked as though they were going to get the job done when attempting to hold on to a slender 1-0 lead.

The goal was a gift given by Tim Ream, who directed the into his own net in the fifth minute of the encounter.

Fulham were the better side for large chunks of the clash, and they were finally rewarded deep into injury time when Tom Cairney found an equaliser.

The match finished 1-1, which extended Leeds’ unbeaten league run to five, but they lost a man in the 89th minute when Kalvin Phillips was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Despite the result not being exactly what the Whites’ hoped for, Jansson, who is on loan at the club from Torino, was content with the team’s display.

Leeds remain fourth in the standings with an eight-point advantage over seventh-placed Fulham.
