Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Gabriel Jesus could make a surprise return to the starting lineup for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal.

The Brazilian has been out of action since suffering a fracture in his foot against Bournemouth on February 13.

It could not have been worse timing for the 20-year-old, who burst onto the scene with three goals in four starts after arriving from Palmeiras in January.

The youngster impressed so much that Guardiola opted to start him ahead of Sergio Aguero.

After recovering from an operation, Jesus began taking part in training and is edging closer and closer to full fitness.

With a crucial showdown against Arsenal on the horizon, the manager has not ruled out throwing Jesus into the deep end at Wembley.

In Friday's press conference, when asked by reporters if a place in the first XI was out of the question for the forward, Guardiola said: "No."

As expected, his comments have attracted the attention of the City fans, who are thrilled at the prospect of Jesus returning to the team.
