Harry Kane has had a very enjoyable time in front of goal over the past few weeks, and being named Premier League Player of the Month would put icing on the cake.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker had another dry August, but he made up for it in September by scoring 14 goals for club and country.

The 24-year-old, who donned the captain's armband for the Three Lions on Thursday night, netted the one and only goal against Slovenia to secure his nation's place in next summer's World Cup finals in Russia.

For Spurs, the striker has been on fire by scoring 11 times in all competitions, and three of those came against APOEL in the Champions League, which signified his sixth hat-trick in 2017.

In the league alone, Kane found the back of the net on six occasions in September, scoring against Everton, West Ham United and Huddersfield Town.

The forward's form has earned him a place in the seven-man shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

Kane joins Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as Brighton's Pascal Gross, Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles, Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea hitman Alvaro Morata.

Once the nominees were announced, Tottenham fans took to Twitter to give their reactions.
