Kane predicts a “big year” after being nominated for prestigious award

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has success in his sights judging by his reaction to being nominated for the Best FIFA Men’s Player 2017 award.

The England international has become one of the best strikers in the Premier League having won the Golden Boot in two consecutive seasons.

In the 2015-16 campaign, the 24-year-old found the back of the net 25 times, and he followed that up with an improved 29-goal tally last season.

Kane’s form has not gone unnoticed by FIFA as the world governing body has included the Spurs striker in the shortlist for its most prestigious award.

The forward is in esteemed company alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and last year’s winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kane is also joined by fellow Premier League players including, Alexis Sanchez, N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard, while former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has also been nominated.

Club managers and international coaches, as well as members of the media and fans will pick the winner, who will be announced during a ceremony in London on October 23.
