Leeds fans divided on what reception Chris Wood should get in Burnley clash

Leeds United face Burnley in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Turf Moor on Tuesday night, and Whites fans already appear to be divided on the reception former striker Chris Wood should get in Lancashire.

The Clarets signed the New Zealand international for a club-record £15m fee last month, with the 25-year-old asking to be left out of the Championship fixture against Sunderland beforehand as the move to the Premier League edged closer.

Wood has since scored two goals for Sean Dyche’s men having netted 30 in all competitions for the Yorkshire outfit last term, and he could have a quick reunion with his former employers in the League Cup.

Thomas Christiansen’s side haven’t particularly missed the centre-forward though, and they currently sit top of the Championship standings despite their first defeat of the campaign against Millwall on Saturday.

Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on facing Wood and the reception he should get via social media, and they were divided with some saying they ‘hope he doesn’t get booed’, while others suggest that he should having “refused to play”.
