Leeds fans react to Monk’s play-off comments

Leeds are now facing three games that will define their season and perhaps the coming few years at Elland Road. We all know that the Whites have fallen hard since being a Champions League side in the early 2000s, but this campaign has been one in which positivity has flooded back to the club with Garry Monk’s side playing some excellent football as they hunt for a play-off berth.

After occupying a role in the quartet of places they need to be, recent form has seen Leeds slide behind Fulham, but three games remain and a maximum haul of points might just about be enough to get them over the line – albeit the Yorkshire outfit need the Cottagers to slip up given their superior goal difference.

Alas, Monk is confident:

“The Championship is so competitive this season, 73 points in previous years would have been enough for a Play-Off place.

“We are of the mindset now that we have to go and win the three games

“It is simple, if we win the three games, we have a place in the play-offs

“It isn’t going to be easy to win all three, but it is something we believe we can achieve”

His comments have caused some debate on Twitter and below are some of the best responses to the above tweets from the club’s official account…
