Leeds supporters hail attacker following EFL Cup progression

Leeds United booked their spot in the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Premier League side Burnley on penalties following a pulsating 2-2 draw at Turf Moor.

The two teams could not be separated in normal or extra-time, and the third-round fixture therefore headed for a penalty shootout to determine which team would make round four.

It was Leeds that came through Tuesday’s shootout 5-3, with the Championship outfit continuing their impressive start to the 2017-18 campaign.

Leeds currently sit top of the Championship table after eight matches, and it would be fair to say that the club’s supporters are extremely pleased with their team’s progression this term.

Following the Burnley match, Leeds attacker Kemal Roofe took to Twitter to pay tribute to his teammates for showing character to overcome the Premier League outfit.

As expected, Roofe’s post brought a strong reaction from the Leeds fans, who were quick to highlight the 24-year-old’s all-action performance at Turf Moor.
