Leeds supporters hail winger after shock international result

Leeds United winger Ezgjan Alioski was a part of the Macedonia team that picked up a 1-1 draw away to Italy in Friday night’s 2018 World Cup qualification match.

Italy needed to win to stand any chance of catching Spain at the top of the group, but a very impressive Macedonian performance saw the points shared in Torino, with Aleksandr Trajkovski coming up with an equaliser in the 77th minute.

After the match, Alioski took to Twitter to reveal his delight, and the Leeds supporters were on hand to offer their congratulations to the 25-year-old.

The winger joined Leeds from Swiss club Lugano during the summer transfer window, and he has scored once in 10 Championship appearances for the English side this season.

Alioski, who started his professional career with Young Boys, also has two league assists to his name this season, and it would be fair to say that he is already a popular figure with the Leeds supporters.
