Leeds United are well within a shout of promotion to the Premier League, and Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony has thrown his support behind them.Garry Monk has transformed the team since taking over as manager in the summer. They currently reside fourth in the Championship, eight points adrift of automatic promotion to the top flight with as many games left to play.It is unlikely that the Whites will dislodge either Newcastle United or Brighton from the top spots, but a playoff spot seems to be theirs considering that they sit eight points above seventh-placed Fulham.MacAnthony’s main focus is on League One and his 11th-placed club Peterborough, who now look unlikely to finish in the playoff positions, but he has had his say on Championship matters. The businessman, who is often vocal on Twitter, responded to a Leeds fan asking if the club can make it into the “promised land”.MacAnthony gave his thumbs up and added that the supporters could play a huge role in the club’s progression.

Leeds last played in the top flight 13 years ago.
