Leeds United coach gets fans fired up for Newcastle United clash

Leeds United fans have answered coach Pep Clotet’s rallying cry ahead of this Good Friday’s massive Championship clash against Newcastle United.

Garry Monk’s men travel to St James’ Park to face an opponent who are on the verge of securing automatic promotion into the Premier League.

Leeds are hunting for a way into the top flight as well, but they will have to do it via the playoffs as they currently sit fifth in the table on 72 points.

As it stands, the Whites have a five-point cushion in the playoffs, with Fulham the closest challenges in seventh place.

Friday’s game could be crucial depending on where they finish, but they will already know what is at stake by the time they kick off as Fulham face Norwich City away at 3pm that day.

Earlier in the season, Newcastle came away with all three points at Elland Road, with Dwight Gayle netting a brace.

Heading into this fixture, Leeds are feeling more positive having responded to back-to-back defeats with a 3-0 triumph over Preston, while Newcastle play on the back of a 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

Ahead of the match, assistant coach Clotet tweeted a message to rally the troops, and the fans echoed his sentiments.
